BabyBaby!

My sweet little Kennedy Rae! I've decided to start a post on getting my 6 month old baby to sleep through the night in her crib without the bottle!! Everyone has their own "sleeping through the night" theories. My oldest, Kelsi, was spoiled, fed and rocked each night before bed. She is my worst sleeper; go figure :) It took her until Kaitlyn was born before she would go to bed on her own. Pretty soon, Kelsi got her way and was being rocked before bed again; she was 2yrs old.
Kaitlyn, about 4 months old, had to "cry it out" in her crib. It took 20 minutes of crying before she fell asleep. After that first night, amazingly enough, I could just lay her down awake in her crib and she woud go to sleep on her own. It was a miracle!! I was now a firm believer in the "cry it out" method!
Now comes precious baby #3. She got a cold about a month ago and I put her in her swing so she could breathe better. I have loved this...I prop up a bottle for her (I know...baby bottle tooth decay...) and she falls sound asleep where she stays until 7am! Fab, fab, fabulous! But, as we all know, you can't sleep in a swing forever; and I really don't want to mess up her invisible teeth. So, with a heavy heart, I realize that I must get the swing out of her room and use the crib for what it's meant for.
Tomorrow night maybe....

Wicked Sista's

I finally got to go to Cali and see Wicked w/ my sisters. I had been before but thought it would be a great excuse to spend time with them before they get married! Meagen's fiancee, Chad, tagged along as "photographer" and "driver". Just kidding, Chad! It was so fun; we shopped, ate, saw my fav musical and I was back home in a day!

Maybe someday I will talk Jesse into seeing it - he thinks that since I've seen it for the 4th time that I will have had my fill. Not true, I will probably keep going until he sees it with me. My friend also thinks that I should venture out and start seeing other musicals. I have yet to see one though that gives me the same heart pounding, goosebump feeling that Wicked does. Thanks Meg & Alli for a great trip!!!

Sweet Cakes!

The great thing about Jesse's job is that is has a lot of "early" days and usually we will go out to lunch. Once you get into the habit, mac&cheese and pb&j, just don't quite cut it anymore. :) Today we went to SweetCakes. I finally talked him into it...he used to think it was "girl" food. Whatever that means...BUT...I found out something so awesome! They now sell their sugar cookie dough, frosting & sprinkles!!! Yay!!! No more all day in the kitchen, trying to make the perfect "sweet cake" sugar cookie only to be severely disappointed. I love to make sugar cookies, but can never get them exactly how I want them; super thick with light & fluffy frosting. Now I can make them AND pass them off as my own, because technically you did bake them right?? I am so excited! FYI - it was 15$ for about 3-4 doz cookies worth of dough and $4 for frosting. I say, if they come out like a Sweet Cakes sugar cookie - it's worth every penny!

I am going private

Sadly, I have had to make my blog private :( A couple of inappropriate comments from people I don't even know, with nothing better to do, made the decision easy for me. I've loved catching up with people through my blog and I hate finding someone I know, only to find myself "uninvited" to view their blog. But now I totally understand why and I could go on and on about the lame, idiotic people out there who ruin it for the rest of us!

:) Love to all! :)

Congrats Val!

Here is a little tribute post to my gorgeous sis-in-law Val! Here she is at REGIONALS! If you have ever been in choir you know what this means. Auditioning, practicing...it is tough to get chosen and she was PICKED! They performed at Mt. View on Saturday. Great job, Val - I love ya girl!

Single Mommin' It!

On Saturday Jesse hit the dunes with his bro's and my dad. It really makes me appreciate having him around because he does so much for me. We have a pretty good system set up so that we both get to do the things that we want to do and the other person will be in charge of the girls. The really bad downside to this plan is that we never do anything together! Meaning, just the two of us. We do things as a family all of the time, I love to just drive around and run errands with my family; and we have a date night maybe twice a month. Again, we usually like to take our girls with us to Costa Vida or some place like that. Last night we went to Macaroni Grill, just the two of us, and it was funny...we just kind of stared at eachother...and then Jesse says, "well, this is nice." We were acting like we had been married for 50 years! Life is funny sometimes...

I am really lucky though to have 3 great kids. They really make it easy for me. I enjoy being with just my girls sometimes. It is like having my best friends around. I think it is a blessing and something to be grateful for to feel that way about your children.

Here are some pics from our friend Gage's 1st bday! It was a cowboy theme, complete with a cowpie cake and the roasting of marshmallows. It was so fun - I always enjoy going over to Kyle & Ash's house. She is a great cook and always makes yummy food for us!

Happy V Day Everyone!

I hope everyone had an awesome Valentine's Day! I missed baking cookies and other yummy treats this year. We had a crazy busy day on vday. I had to teach my sculpting class at the gym and to my suprise people actually showed up! I grabbed some takeout for the way home and then Jesse played bball at 9pm that night. I know...way too exciting for a blog! :)

Hey! But since I didn't actually make anything yummy, I decided that buying it is even better! I took my girlies to AJ's and man did we pick out some delicious goodies! Brownies, cookies, cream puffs ... I also found these awesome red heart shaped corn chips. Like so many of you, I ate way too much!

Fun times!

Man, church ball is BRUTAL these days!

Here is how Jess came home from bball tonight! Poor guy, his nose is probably broken :( He was late coming home and I thought he was bringing me ice cream. But, he says, we are in the championship game now. Woo Hoo! It's on Vday by the way....As always, fun times!

4 Real

I had to grab my camera here because I thought it would be a perfect way to share what my life is really like with 3 little girls. The days of getting Kelsi and Kaitlyn matching and perfect are over! We went to the dr today at 8am and I announced that it was "do your own hair day".
So here is an example of what goes on while I am blogging. (Why I should just wait for the kids to go to bed before even getting on the computer)!
I was checkin out some blogs when I hear some movement behind me. I look to find Kelsi dragging a barstool, with a plate of pizza in her hand, to the microwave. She had taken it upon herself to make a meal. What was really funny about it though is that both of my girls had changed into their swimsuits and were basically having free rein of the house. Even funnier? This was just a totally normal day in the life of my girls. Normally though I would have stopped her (or tried to help) but I wanted to see exactly what she was planning on doing.

Happy Wheezer

I have never had to use one of these things before - This is our third go round of wheezes and coughs with Kennedy. Top it off with a double ear infection and you've got some good times! Actually she has been pretty good despite everything. Her doctor said she is a "happy wheezer"! HA!

This picture looks like she really was having fun...let me tell you...pictures lie!

The Goodman Gals

If we did a Goodman Guy pic Jesse would be all by himself! So far we don't have any boys to carry on the Goodman name - oh well...gotta LOVE the girls!

Mmmm...Sugar Cookies!

On Monday night for FHE, the Goodman Family came over to decorate cookies for Valentines Day. The cousin kids had so much fun; eating, decorating cookies, and eating some more. I can't even tell you how many cookies my girls ate - Fun times! Even Kennedy got in on the fun!

A Day at the Park

How sad that Friday, Feb 8th was the first time I had taken my kids to the park. After having Kennedy I have been a total slacker. Feeling a little guilty, I went on the way from picking up Kels from preschool. Maybe I should have cleaned the swing before putting Kendy in it. It looks filthy in the picture!

Ace of Base

Hahaha..anyone remember these guys? This was my favorite cassette tape from way back when I went to Poston Jr.- Man, I feel old. I came across this song "It's a Beautiful Life" and it brought back some memories.

What do you do without the televison?

They say things happen in three's. 1st our heater went out last week - on the day it got fixed the color wheel in our TV broke. Hmmm...what will the third thing be?
It's happened....this morning my T3 flat iron would not turn on. What the heck?? Luckily I had my old metal one from 3 yrs ago. Maybe Bill's Electronics can fix this! :)

Jesse and I had to break the TV out of the entertainment center and put it in the back of his truck. Luckily, it didn't fall and shatter everywhere.

FYI - if you ever are in need of a guy to fix a tv - Bill's Electronics is the way to go. This old guy can fix anything and does it for cheap.

Being without a TV is actually a great thing; I could live without it forever. Here is a list I have compiled of things that we have done in place of the TV. I will keep on adding to it since we won't get ours back until the end of February.

1. Have a fashion/talent show. I like to be entertained when I feed Kendy and naturally watch the Today Show or something like that. I had the girls sing for me instead and they totally took turns - it was fun and something I would have missed out on if the big box had been on.

2. Play Duck Duck Goose! This is our fav game and we run all through the house.

3. Clean! You would think I would have way more time to clean, but actually I just have 2 little shadows following me around and since they aren't sitting quietly in front of the TV, they are actually getting toys out and playing. I have been trying very hard to teach them to pick up after themselves and not doing it for them!

I'm sure I will add more to this list - so far this is what we have done. I didn't even think we watched it that much, but 2 movies a day is like 4 hours! Yikes!
4. Enjoy the weather - I took the girls to the park for the first time since having Kennedy.
5. Draw and make crafts
OK - So we lasted about 3 days without TV. We wanted one for our playroom anyway so now we have a little one hooked up in place of our reg one. We will see how it goes...it's nice to watch at night with Jesse before we go to sleep, but I hope my girls don't hassle me about watching it all of the time. It was so nice without it, they couldn't even ask to watch it and found stuff to do on their own - Maybe I need to do what the pediatrician told me at Kelsi's last well check appt. - limit TV to 30 minutes/day and they have to actually save up time throughout the week to watch a movie. A little excessive? I think so...

American Idol here we come!

My girls love this song by Taylor Swift. It came on the radio and Kaitlyn started to sing it to Kennedy. I was cracking up, so I grabbed my camera. I wish I could have captured the entire song! If you look closely you will see that Kaitlyn's gum falls out and she picks it back up. Nice!

Miss Mom

Kaitlyn is my little miss mom. I've got to say she has gotten pretty good at feeding Kennedy. Can't complain about that! Here is a pic from her first time and she got pretty grossed out when the baby food got on her hand :)

Kelsi makes breakfast

K - so somewhere between 4 and 5 years old, your child starts to think that they can do EVERYTHING by themselves! Kelsi now has to crack her own eggs for breakfast. I have gotten smart and now buy the egg beaters that you can pour out of the carton :) Here she is looking proud!

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!

My sweet little Katie turned 3 on New Year's Day! She chose a duck theme so we improvised and created this duck cake. We used blue rasberry jello for the pond. You seriously need to do a practice round when you do cakes like this, but who has time for that?

Unfortunately, she will be in nursery for another year due to the Dec 31st cut off. I feel like she has gotten shafted, but I don't think she could care less!

Going to Grandma's!

I have the best grandparents in the whole world. My Grandma Trudy and Grandpa Ward just love my girls and love for us to come and visit. It's always a good time - Unfortunately, my grandma has had trouble with a knee surgery from way back in August. She has had to lay low and stay off of her feet as much as possible. She is normally so active and loves to get down on the floor and have tea parties with my girls. She has more energy to play with them than I do! We are hoping and praying that things will get better for her ASAP! Here are some pics of our visits.....

Disney Princesses On Ice

Kelsi and Kaitlyn had a wonderful time at Disney Princesses on Ice with Grandma Cindy and Papa Dale. This meant that Jesse and I got to cruise around San Tan Mall by ourselves, thanks to Grandma and Grandpa G taking baby Kennedy. If you ever go, make sure you eat at the California Sub place inside the food court. This place comes pretty close to our all time favorite sandwich place; Steve's Crazy Sub on Power Rd.

Kelsi and Kaitlyn came home with some awesome Little Mermaid wands.

I've figured it out....

OK -
So after a TON of troubleshooting and late nighters, I finally have a blog. It is much more fun looking at everyone else's awesome blogs now that I actually have one. I can now say that I am a blog addict; I carry my camera with me wherever I go and wonder what my next post will be. There is only one downside; now that my pics will be viewed by everyone, I have to create the perfect picture. This means getting 3 girls ready and looking fabulous at the same time; not an easy task. At the moment I am planning a Target trip to get them matching valentine outfits so I can put more updated pics in my header. Be on the look out for that! :)
